It's All Green At The Blue Spa Café
16/05/2005
Meat-eating diners at Cheltenham General's Blue Spa Café might turn over a new, "green" leaf once they feast their eyes on the menu during National Vegetarian Week.
From Monday 23 May to Sunday 29 May, the chefs at the Café will be dishing up culinary creations that include caramelised red onion and goat cheese, four cheese ravioli and brie pesto cherry filo tart.
Deputy Catering manager, Ben Foxall says,
"We are constantly changing and adding to our menu at the hospital and the Vegetarian Week is just one of many theme weeks we currently organise. Our chefs have focused on providing a wide variety of dishes which compliment taste with nutrition. And because each meal is reasonably priced, we are hoping everyone will be keen to try something vegetarian this week.
"Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is committed to improving the working lives of its staff and the Vegetarian Week will give anyone, including our staff a chance to try a vegetarian way of life. We will also be providing a couple of dishes with meat in for those who require it."
The full range of vegetarian options will be available to diners at lunchtime. Meal prices for the public start from £2.10. The Blue Spa Café is situated near the front entrance of Cheltenham General Hospital. Every week, the Café serves around 630 meals to more than in 3000 customers.
