Comment: Ms Carla Green
24/04/2007
A spokeswoman for Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said, “The staff at the Special Care Baby Unit in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital aim to give all the babies in their care the best possible treatment. Babies who require such specialist services are often extremely ill and their condition can deteriorate quickly despite every effort to save them. The Unit treated Felix for ten weeks and were deeply saddened when he died.
“All the staff at the Unit are specially trained not only to look after the babies but also the families, and every effort is made to keep the family informed and for consent to be given before any procedure begins.
“The Trust extends its deepest sympathies to Ms Green for her
loss.”
