A spokeswoman for the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said:
“Like all our staff at the Trust, the ward staff work hard to
make sure that patients receive the best possible care in a clean and
safe environment and as soon as patients are diagnosed with contracting
C-difficile, they are placed in side rooms.
The only visitors to have
access to isolated patients are their relatives and they are provided
with information and advice about the risks involved.
“We are sorry that Ms Blake has been worried about the possibility of infection and invite her to come forward and speak to staff so we can discuss her concerns and provide some reassurance about her Aunt's care."
