Park and Ride Launch Success

One month on and Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Stagecoach West are delighted at the feedback following the launch of the brand new park and ride and shuttle bus service Route 99.
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Stagecoach West unveiled the service in March as part of an ongoing campaign to encourage more people to leave their cars at home.
The service provides passengers with a frequent shuttle bus between the two hospitals and a park and ride service from the Racecourse to Cheltenham General Hospital via the Town Centre, easing pressure on both hospital car parks and the region’s roads.
The Trust’s Public and Patient Involvement department (PPI) conducted a survey throughout April to assess satisfaction from staff in the service at this early stage.
Respondents were given the opportunity to provide qualitative comments within the anonymous questionnaire on their experience of using the service.
The results demonstrated 96% of staff and public passengers stated that they would recommend the Route 99 bus service to their family and friends.

"Driver always helpful, punctual and smartly dressed. Excellent service" (staff member)
"Very happy with the service, bus is spotless. Driver very helpful" (staff member)
"Excellent service. Prompt and efficient" (staff member)
"Good service, please let it continue" (staff member)
Trust Director of Corporate Governance and Facilities Graham Lloyd:
"We are really pleased with the responses from staff as well as patients and believe that when the service becomes better established, passenger numbers will grow further.
"Route 99 is a punctual service and is an excellent example of the Trust’s commitment to being a Good Corporate Citizen helping to reduce the pressures on our car parks and cut our carbon emissions".
Marketing Manager of Stagecoach West Nathan Williams said:
" Route 99 is proving popular to both staff and patients alike and we hope more and more people will use the service in future."
