Chief Executive's Letter

Dear Patient

You will soon be coming into hospital, perhaps for the first time. On behalf of Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and all the staff at the hospitals, welcome! We want to make every effort to ensure your stay here is as comfortable as possible. We are aware that coming into hospital may seem daunting, particularly if it is the first time. This booklet tells you about preparing for and being admitted to hospital, what services are provided for you and finally how to plan for going home or moving on to other health care services.

If after reading this online leaflet, there are any questions which remain unanswered about any aspect of your treatment or stay please ask the ward sister or any of the doctors or nurses involved in your care. They will be only too pleased to help you and if necessary talk to your relatives or carers.

We are constantly trying to improve our services and any feedback you give us would be very welcomed. We have suggestion boxes in designated areas at every hospital, alternatively contact the Patient and Public Involvement Department on 08454 225756 who would be pleased to hear your views.

Frank Harsent
