Public and Patient Involvement

Foundation Members and Governors

Gloucestershire Hospitals became a Foundation Trust in July 2004.

As a Foundation Trust the public and staff can become members of the Trust and some decide to put themselves forward for nomination through election as a Governor.

Governors are elected by their members and represent them on the Council of Governors to ensure their views are heard by the Trust Board when planning changes to services. There are 22 Governors, 13 of which are public governors who represent Gloucester (2), Cheltenham (2), Forest of Dean (2), Cotswold (2), Stroud (2) and Patients (1) (out of county).

If you are a member and would like to know more about becoming a Governor please contact Andrew Collis. If you are not already a member but would like to join please click here to find out more.

In addition to receiving a newsletter, Members can chose to become actively involved with Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. They can do this in a variety of ways which includes attending seminars and tours, attending discussion groups on topics of interest, becoming part of the Members Forum. For more information you may wish to contact the PPI Team.
