Public and Patient Involvement
Foundation Members and Governors
Gloucestershire Hospitals became a Foundation Trust in July 2004.
As a Foundation Trust the public and staff can become members and
some decide to put themselves forward as a Governor.
Governors are
elected by their members and represent them on the Council of Governors
to ensure their views are heard by the Trust Board when planning
changes to services. There are 25 Governors, 13 of which are public
governors who represent Gloucester (2), Cheltenham (2), Forest of
Dean (2), Cotwold and Vale (2), Stroud (2) and Patients (1) (out
of county).
If you are a member and would like to know more about becoming a Governor contact Margaret Pither. If you are not already a member but would like to join please click here to find out more.
Members can either receive information
or actively become involved. They do this in a variety of ways.
Examples of these are attending open days, join patient groups,
locality groups or become a member of the Patient and Public Involvement
Forums and/or attend discussion groups on topics of interest.
