Patient Leaflets
Patient Information
As a Trust we are committed to providing our patients with the best information possible. We have made extensive use of the Department of Health Toolkit for Producing Patient Information. The Toolkit gives guidelines, which enable us to produce good quality information that meets the needs of patients and the public, in addition to our own needs.
The Trust has developed a Patient Information policy, which is administered through the Patient Information Unit to ensure that all patient information adheres to internal standards.
There are many advantages to providing patients with information, some of which are listed below:
- To understand what is wrong
- To understand the likely outcomes of possible tests and treatments
- To assist in self-care
- To provide re-assurance
- To help others understand

Please Note:
These leaflets should not be read in isolation but should be used
in conjunction with any consultation by your care practitioner
(e.g. consultant, doctor, nurse, physiotherapist)
