When you are admitted to Hartpury
What to expect when you are admitted to our ward
On arrival to the Hartpury Suite you will be welcomed by a staff nurse who will prepare you for the procedure and answer any questions you may have. You will be seen by a doctor who will discuss the procedure with you and ask you to sign a consent form.
A relative is welcome to stay with you for the day. Alternatively a relative will be asked to telephone the department at lunchtime and a discharge time will be given, for them to collect you.
Following you procedure you will be expected to lie flat for a period of time and on sitting up a light lunch will be provided.
Please be aware that the Trust is now a smoke free NHS. Smoking is not permitted in any building or within the grounds of any of our sites. Information and support is available to any patients who wish to stop smoking. Nicotine Replacement Therapy is available to help reduce your cravings during your stay.
