Ward 8B
Ward 8B is 29 bedded acute Respiratory Medical Ward based on the eigth floor within the Tower block at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
This ward specialises in treating conditions such as exacerbations of COPD, acute asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia and lung cancer. Through the use of non-invasive ventilation they are able to provide assistance during acute respiratory failure.
All staff on ward 8B endeavour to provide a high standard of patient care. Efforts are taken to ensure patient dignity and confidentiality at all times.
Ward 8B is managed by the Ward Manager, Kate Wilson, two senior sisters Linda Jones and Catz Matthews along with a large compliment of Registered Staff Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Ward Clerks. All staff work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team to include respiratory specialist nurses, a team of four consultants, medical staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, discharge teams, ward pharmacists, volunteers, student nurses, lung function physiologists, dieticians and palliative care staff.
