Cheltenham Governors

Until retirement I worked as a consultant surgeon based at Cheltenham General Hospital, for 28 years. I am keen to make a positive contribution to the success of The Foundation Trust particularly to what should be our ongoing dialogue between the Trust and the population it serves. Increased service provision should be associated with increased patient benefit and increased professional satisfaction. I am particularly concerned that services should not be removed from Cheltenham Hospitals.

Having previously been a Governor appointed to represent the PCTs, where I was a Non-Executive Director, I am pleased to have the opportunity to represent the people of Cheltenham as a publicly elected Governor. I am keen to see the Foundation Trust succeed as a first rate acute Trust that provides a comprehensive service for the people of Gloucestershire and in particular Cheltenham. I was previously an Executive Director of a financial service organisation responsible for, interalia, property and facilities. In latter years I specialised in the health sector, working on PFI schemes and in the primary care area. I have lived locally for over 30 years
