The principle function of the
Department of Postgraduate Medical Education is to
fulfil Avon Gloucestershire & Wiltshire Workforce
Development Confederation Education & Training
Agreement for Doctors in training. This involves the
organisation of an induction once a year, Foundation
Programme teaching, processing Study Leave expenses
claims and monitoring the education provided by the
Trust. The Department of Postgraduate Medical
Education also organises Lunchtime Lectures, Generic
Skills Training for Consultants and courses for
General Practitioners. The staff in the Centre are
able to organise a study day on behalf of a
department and are happy to deal with any questions
or problems relating to training/education.
