Dermatology

Services Provided

The Dermatology Department offers a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for general dermatological problems together with an extensive number of specialist services. The aim of the Department is to provide a comprehensive service for the accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of dermatological conditions, including the early detection and treatment of skin cancer. The Consultants are supported by a dedicated team of staff who all strive to provide the best treatment for each patient.

Patients with all types of skin conditions are seen for diagnosis and treatment in the Outpatient Department. Information leaflets are available for many of the conditions seen and we encourage patients to ask questions in order to understand their treatment fully.

A minority of dermatology patients with severe skin diseases (such as serious leg ulceration, extensive psoriasis and eczema) require inpatient treatment in the dedicated Inpatient Ward.
