Emergency Department

Introduction

Rapid diagnosis and treatment service for patients who are seriously injured or fall ill. Conditions treated in A&E departments include unconsciousness, heavy bleeding, suspected broken bones, suspected heart attack, difficulty in breathing, asthma attack, chest pain, head injury etc.

Services Provided

Service to patients with health emergencies. We aim to complete the assessment and any inital treatment of all patients within four hours. If you have been waiting more than 30 minutes without being seen by a nurse or doctor please speak to the receptionist.

The Department has state of the art 32 slice scanners, with cardiac attachments enhancing the potential of the interventional cardiac centre.

Our Staff

There is an Accident and Emergency Department at both Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal, both of which are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
