Introduction
The Gynaecology department provides a full range of emergency and elective gynaecology services. The elective services offered include:
General gynaecology: including the management of menstrual disturbance, endometriosis and HRT related problems and pelvic organ prolapse.
Urogynaecology: Offering a comprehensive range of investigations and management options for the management of female urinary incontinence.
Reproductive medicine: Offers investigations, advice and management of infertility problems.
Gynaecological oncology: Gynaecological oncology deals with the screening and management of cancer within gynaecology.
In addition there is a range of emergency facilities with the emergency early pregnancy clinic and urgent referral clinic which operate on a daily basis.
Services Provided
The Gynaecology department staff are committed to the care and management of women with gynaecological problems. A wide range of outpatient, day case and inpatient procedures are carried out to provide a modern evidence based gynaecological service. The services are offered at a number of sites although the main inpatient work is carried out at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital.
The dedicated staff consists of various disciplines including, Consultants, Junior Doctors, Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Clerical and support staff, who all work together, as a team, to ensure you receive the best possible care and support.

Our Staff
There are 15 Consultant Gynaecologists who each lead a team of specialist doctors and nurses. As a patient you may be seen by the clinician or by a doctor or nurse within their team. The clinician has overall responsibilty for your care.
In addition to the two main Hospitals the Gynaecology Consultants hold Outpatient Clinics at Berkeley, Cirencester, Dilke Memorial, Lydney, Bourton on the Water, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stroud General, Tewkesbury and Winchcombe Hospitals.
Cheltenham General Hospital
Outpatient Clinics take place in both West Block Outpatients Department and Prestbury Clinic.
Inpatient and Day Case Services are carried out at either Cheltenham General, Cirencester or Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

Dr. Geraldine Hyatt-Williams - Dr. Hyatt-Williams is a long standing Hospital Practitioner at Cheltenham General. She is the Doctor in charge of the Menopause Clinic in addition to a Hospital Practitioner in Hysteroscopy.
