A surgical specialty that mainly involves the surgical management of disorders of the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, gall bladder, bile duct, liver and pancreas.
Services Provided
The Upper GI Department incorporates a joint medical and surgical approach to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases including cancer. The aim is to provide a patient focused approach to Upper GI diseases.

We offer a full range of assessment, treatment and follow up for a wide range of surgical and Upper GI disorders and procedures.
Information leaflets are available for many of the conditions seen in the department and we encourage patients to ask questions in order to understand their treatment fully.
