Vascular Surgery

Introduction

Vascular Surgery covers the following: the treatment of peripheral vascular disease, aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease and varicose vein conditions.

Services Provided

The Vascular Department provides a comprehensive range of services within the Trust. The Consultants work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside specialists from other disciplines such as radiologists, anaesthetists and physicians.

The department provides an inpatient, outpatient and day case service for the non-surgical and surgical management of diseases of the arteries and veins.

Specialist Nurses assist with the running of the Department offering experience in care of the high dependency patient, rehabilitation and palliative care. This all contributes to providing a dedicated service.

Information leaflets are available for many of the conditions seen in the department and we encourage patients to ask questions in order to understand their treatment fully.

Outpatient Services

The Department provides the following Outpatient Services:

• General Vascular Service
• Nurse Led Leg Ulcer Service
• Rapid Access Carotid Scan Service

Please Note: Not all Services are provided at every Location.
