The objectives of the IBD DOAS Project Team

The objectives of the IBD DOAS Project Team are to:

• Develop a “reference group” made up of key stakeholders. Consulting closely with this group will ensure that the project draws upon existing expertise, carries credibility and avoids duplication of work; hence the title DOAS.

• Work with the reference group to develop an ideal pathway of care for patients with IBD. This will be reported to NPfIT and will enable them to ensure that their systems support the pathway.
  

• Report on important areas of clinical risk within IBD to ensure that these can be addressed by the IT system.
  

• Advise on patient centred standards of care. The report will highlight the work of the National IBD Audit that is currently underway and collaboration with this group is in progress.
  

• Develop a methodology by which a Knowledge Management System for IBD can be developed and maintained.
