Services Provided
Pregnant women are usually seen initially at home, by their community midwife, who will discuss and agree an individual plan for their antenatal care. If appropriate, some cases are referred on to the hospital where the referral information is reviewed. The patient may then be contacted to arrange tests or an outpatient appointment with an obstetrician if appropriate. Antenatal clinics are held at Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester, Dilke, Lydney and Stroud.
Inpatient care is provided at: -
• Cheltenham General Hospital – Bibury & Snowshill Wards
• Gloucestershire Royal Hospital – Blaisdon, Blenheim & Lambourne Wards
Our Staff
There are 10 Consultant Obstetricians who each lead a team of specialist doctors and nurses. As a patient you may be seen by the clinician or by a doctor or nurse within their team. The clinician has overall responsibilty for your care.
